CES

CES 2027 runs January 6–9 in Las Vegas. Many exhibitors from China ship stands, demo units, and samples. Ocean cargo goes to Los Angeles or Long Beach and then by truck to Las Vegas, so the West Coast window, the inland leg, and the show’s receiving dates decide the sailing. In the US, exhibits enter on an ATA carnet, a temporary importation bond, or a normal import. Yihang Shipping books the move from China, coordinates the US entry with a broker, and plans the return or the sale after the show. Batteries are declared before booking.

Mode Planning window When it fits
Ocean FCL Often 14–22 days port to port from East China to Los Angeles or Long Beach. Add release, the truck to the show city, and the receiving dates. Dalian adds a feeder. Stands, machines, and anything that should stay in one box.
Ocean LCL The same sailing plus consolidation in China and a US warehouse. A few pallets of booth material, when the date allows the extra handling.
Air freight A few days airport to airport once the flight is confirmed. Still has to meet the receiving slot. Samples, graphics, demo units, and anything that missed the vessel.

Windows are for planning. They are not a Yihang booking.

Planning CES

  • A January show means a November sailing, before the holiday peak. Air covers what misses.
  • Advance warehouse or direct to show: the general service contractor’s manual gives both deadlines. The advance warehouse costs storage but buys days.
  • Material handling inside the venue is billed by the show contractor, usually by weight. It is not part of an ocean rate.
  • Lithium batteries in demo units need the UN38.3 test summary and the right declaration for air or ocean.
  • Book the move-out pickup before the show opens. A missed carrier slot is rerouted by the contractor at the exhibitor’s cost.

Customs in United States

  • The US accepts the ATA carnet for exhibition goods that will leave again.
  • A temporary importation bond (TIB) through a US customs broker is the other route for goods that return.
  • Anything sold, given away, or consumed at the show is entered as a normal import.
  • Ocean cargo needs the importer security filing before loading in China. The quote names who files it.

Questions exhibitors ask

When should CES 2027 cargo leave China?

Ocean cargo for a January show usually needs to sail in November so it can clear and reach the advance warehouse or the move-in slot. The quote counts back from the deadline in the exhibitor manual and writes the latest sailing. Air covers what misses it.

ATA carnet or TIB for the US?

Both work for goods that return. A carnet covers several countries for up to a year. A temporary importation bond is set up with a US broker for that one entry. Anything sold or given away is entered normally.

Can you ship giveaways and brochures?

Yes, as a normal import on their own packing list. Consumables and printed giveaways are not carnet goods.
